Bleeding after menopause - Related to RNY?

I am 67 yo, had simple hyperplasia 5 yrs.ago, which caused rather heavy bleeding 10 yrs.after menopause. Had all the tests, vaginal ultrasound, endometrial biopsy. Diagnosis, simple hyperplasia caused by obesity. It did clear up, Pap smears normal since.

Today , 3 weeks after RNY &30 lb loss since, I began a pink, somewhat reddish, light but frequent discharge. Had my first followup with surgeon 2 days ago and he told me this discharge AND my more emotional (crying for no reason) were related and not at all uncommon, as the body kicks off fat, estrogen, stored in the fat IS released causing spotting in postmenopausal women.

I'd recommend however, not to turn a blind eye to this issue, but to check in with a gyn, which I intend to do. Even if this is a normal response to rapid weight loss, I don't like all that estrogen coursing about. We have to avoid estrogen after a certain age NOT just for uterine health, but breasts as well.

Just to reiterate -- call the gynecologist as soon as possible.  My mother was on hormones after menopause and the doctors told her to call them immediately if she had any vaginal bleeding.  She did and they did a partial hysterectomy (everything but the ovaries).  Vaginal bleeding after menopause is NOT normal. Get it checked.
