For the Benefit of Pre-Ops: DSers, what are YOU eating today??
the first surgeon I saw told me I should have a ds , then 12 others all very popular on this forum weaseled out of doing it for me, either I was too light weight, or high risk, or the reflux issue too high,,, so over six years I went to the best doctors, insurance got better and ten days ago I got my ds under my fundiplication by one of the real Artist of the DS. DON'T SETTLE.
Congrats! we share the same affinity for Dr A! I did not have the hassles with Dr's and insurance that you did - but I have come to hold Dr A and his staff in high regard. I had my own pre-op red-tape and ever since I took a large part in cutting through it, the staff goes out of their way to help me with whatever I need.
btw - I had smoked chicken, mashed potatoes, white gravy, corn (little bit - this upsets my tummy still), a whipped cream/grapes salad and the fillings and pecans off a piece of pie - I'm not quite 4 months out,so this was all in small amounts, but still - it all tasted WONDERFUL. I may venture out with leftovers to a BITE of the Hawaiian rolls we always have with butter... a whole roll wouldn't work for me yet, but they are sooooooo good!

This post maid me happy because I did not think I would be able to eat normal food at Thanksgiving after surgery because I thought the dressing would have to many carbs or would cause gas. I had prepared myself to not get to eat it. Thanks for the hope.

Hmmm...here's what I had today:
Breakfast: Crustless quiche made with tons of cheese, bacon, and spinach
First Dinner: Turkey & gravy, mashed sweet potatoes slathered with butter, deviled eggs, waldorf salad, meat/cream cheese/onion & pickle rollups, corn pudding slathered with butter
Snack: pumpkin pie with lots of whipped cream
Second Dinner: Turkey & gravy, corn bread stuffing, homemade apple sauce, and more waldorf salad
It's only 8:00, so I'll probably eat some more of something before I go to bed for the night - there's some of mom's homemade apple pie, more turkey, corn pudding, and stuffing....mmmmm....LOL
I hope everyone enjoyed their day! :)
