"That's why I say that I didn't need to get right with food, food needed to get right with me!  (I stole that from someone but I can't remember who or I would give them the credit.)"

There is more than one way to skin a cat.

For me, I chose to meet food half way...  We both had work to do.

Please make them stop forcing me to eat unhealthy foods that make me miserable.

This appears to be a reply to my first post...  I'm usually pretty quick on the uptake, but this is out of my reach... please explain?

I can't see how any interpretion of this snappy quip would apply to one but not another WLS... again, please explain.

We were pretty low-key around here for Thanksgiving, since it was just the 3 of us, and 2 of us aren't really big eaters - me and my 9 year old daughter.  So, we had:

turkey breast (nobody likes the legs here)
homemade stuffing
mashed potatoes
green bean casserole
homemade cranberry sauce
canned cranberry sauce (because the 9 year old is PICKY!)
homemade gravy

pumpkin-pecan pie for dessert.

I have loads of turkey breast left over, which will be made into turkey croquettes and turkey pot pie over the next week or so, just as planned.  Besides the cooking, food wasn't our focus for Thanksgiving this year - it was just hanging out together, playing games on the Wii, doing our own things (crochet for me, football for DH, a computer game for my kid), and enjoying the down time.  It wasn't a very big deal.

Today, we ordered pizza, because I had been shopping all afternoon (DH wrecked his car going in to work at 7 am, so the morning was shot - he's fine, albeit a little stiff in the neck & back, but the car's toast).  As far as food's concerned, nobody in my house has been really that concerned about it.  Strange, really.
