K, too, but it's pretty much a useless test.

What makes the K useless?  Should I skip it this go round?

What about zinc, copper and selenium?  Do those need light protected?

K is better tested by PT and PTT.  Ignore INR, though as that is only useful for orally coagulated patients.  I mean, you can GET K, but PT and PTT are better indicators.

Zinc is not light protected, but is easily contaminated by the stoppers in vials.  Some labs use a special container that's been acid washed.

Copper is not light protected.  It is a fridged sample, though.

Selenium is not light-protected.
