Xpost: Animal Abuse or Normal? (also OT)
on 2/24/11 4:31 am - Roy, UT
I just went and picked up my dog, and the owner was there waiting for me. Apparently when she got my message I needed to talk to her she went in and the other groomers told her what happened. The kicking groomer was there when I got there, had her coat on, and looked like she had been bawling (wet, red puffy eyes). The owner apologized to me for what I saw, agreed with me that her employee's behavior was unacceptable and told me she dealt with it.
I didn't make a return appt yet. I want to make sure that the problem really is taken care of first.

Tammy I have an English springer spaniel, golden retriever, chow chow three different dogs that require grooming and have two others a lab and a lab/Sheppard I have been with Fred for at least 18 years so he has seen my dogs past and present come and go and one day I asked him if the barking ever drove him nuts and he laughed and said I don't even hear it anymore and thats the sound of money. Now I will ask you this...what were the other employees reaction to this horrific behavior? I personally would have had the girl at the counter hold my dog and went to the groomer and kicked her ass taken my dog home and found another groomer. I see red at any type of cruelty/abuse and have no problem saying something. My mouth writes a check my body can cash when I do it. Too many good groomers to go round. There are even ones who come to your house in a nice van/rv set up. Check them out before using. Wonder how that dog's owner would react if they knew?
I'm very proud of the action you took because, yes, I also think her behavior was abusive.
Animals are defenseless and we are their only voice. If we do not speak up on their behalf, then we are an accomplice to the abuse...
That poor dog was likely scared, confused, and possibly experiencing separation anxiety, and for her to do what she did is inexcusable. Shame on her!!!
Great work!!!
