HCG diet? Has anyone tried it?
You might as well do meth then. Good Lord, you're so ignorant you'll '"try anything"? This is an excellent way to, at best, waste money on stupid crap that does nothing but drain your pocketbook.
I hate to break it to you, but regain is COMMON. It's still no excuse to fall for snake oil crap. Why don't you at least use something legal and regulated like Alli? Not that that stuff is any better than anything else, but at least you can be confident about what you're ingesting.

I bet meth would be more fun. (*grin*)
Why don't you try the 5-day pouch test to try and stabilize your sugar intake and take it from there? I bet you will be surprised how much easier it is to handle hunger without the carb/sugar cravings. I PROMISE.

These kinds of diets are what made us Obese in the first place...
The "diet" is a well known SCAM... It only works because you are eating 500 cals a day!!!!
You can do this diet by skipping the HCG and merely eating a starvation diet of 500 cals a day...
(Remember the cabbage diet? The Banana diet? etc). There are many medical documented sites (Mayo clinic, etc) that talk about the FALSENESS of this "diet"...
This is the same reason the RNY or DS works...Because we are taking in LESS calories than we burn and basically starving until we get to a point of maintenence.
If Dr. Oz supported it, he is a jerk... Usually he has good advice, but any physician worth his/her salt will tell you that you are basically starving the body...Oh, and the injected hormone? It has not been proven to lose weight...(Ever seen a pregnant woman LOSE weight? Think about it). And it has bad side effects as if being pregnant....Gestational diabetes, high blood pressure, etc.
I will have to dig up the link that reveals this scam....
Don't waste your $$...Spend it instead on doing the RIGHT thing...Eating right, using good quality vitamins and spend the $$ for a gym membership if you must.
Good luck and sorry to be so harsh, but these scams have always gotten by blood boiling!
Warmly,
Jackie

Wow, you really are harsh.
Are you suggesting that I should not diet, continue to gain weight and to hell with it? I have spent my whole life being obese, finally got near normal with RNY and now need help again.
I do resent the idea that I don't eat right and exercise. Why would you think that. If diet and exercise worked for me I wouldn't have gotten the surgery to begin with!
Of course it is starving the body, as is RNY -- in the beginning at least. After seven years, let me assure you, you can eat fairly normally again. And, boy do you get hungry.

Karen, no one is being harsh here. They are simply providing you with the information you requested to help you research this "diet." Unfortunately, it has been proven ineffective and may also be dangerous. Money WOULD be better spent on a gym membership, a nutritionist, a therapist, or whatever you think might help you get over this hump and start moving in the right direction. I know that it's difficult bordering on impossible, especially with PCOS, but the HCG diet is not the answer.
Might as well try the ROCA LABS diet for all the good it will do you. You'll lose the weight of all that cash. Nothing permanent.
It's natural to regain a certain amount of weight after you get to your lowest point, you've obviously found the weight your body ishappiest at. To lose any more you need to diet like the rest of the American Population. Or be content with what you have.

~Lady Lithia~ 200 lbs lost!
March 9, 2011 - Coccygectomy!
I chased my dreams, and my dreams, they caught me!
Jeesh, 20 pounds in five days! That is more than I lost after surgery. I have been reading everything I can find about this diet and five pounds a week really sounds typical.
One of the things I like about this diet is the strict maintenance phase. They require you to weight yourself every morning and not allow yourself to get more or less than 2 pounds from your last weight on the last day of the diet. if you are two pounds over you must only eat a steak for dinner that day. Did you do that to keep the 20lbs off? It is a good suggestion for any diet, really.
I really only need to lose 10 but would rather lose 20 (just so I could finally say I lost 100 pounds!). I must say I did not lose weight while I was pregnant (although I didn't gain much, and considering how I was eating that was miraculous).
Good luck to you!
