My daughter has Hashimotos, she was diagnosed with it about 11-12 years ago.
Just from what I know the auto-imune that cause this can also cause other auto-imune issues besides the hashimoto.
It also has a tendency to run in families. So she may want to be aware of this.
I have auto-imune vitiligo, so does my Grandson, my daughter has the hashimoto and my Granddaughter has auto-imune induced ulcerative colitis and it's bad enough she has had to have her colon removed not to long ago.

I'm just telling you so your friend is awares that many things can happen if you have auto-imune issues. It's good to be aware of it.

thank you for the info. she already has so many ill effects she is aware. I am just grateful she finally has a diagnosis and can proceed.

it's always something, isn't it?  hugs to you & your family.

once upon a time I had a group to talk about Binge Eating Disorder, and later one about Clean Eating.

PM me if you are interested in either of these.

I have Grave's Disease resulting from HYPERACTIVE not hypoactive thyroid. My thyroid was "killed" off with with mega dose of a radio active pill. I am on Synthroid for the rest of my life which is minor compared to living with the disease before you are finally diagnosed and treated. I never had a goiter nor bulging eyes as my disease was caught early on (7 months).
