Actually two things are really going on here.  One, he is an asshole.  Two, yes you are being sensitive if you actually let the words of an asshole have any effect on you. 

Look at the source and then ask yourself if it is psychologically sound to allow your head to get effed up over something an ********ays...

I think there are more than a couple deadly sins here. Let's see...envy, sloth, Gluttony, wrath, pride. Have I forgotten any? You are a generous and very successful person. Don't allow him to rob you of your joy.

 At that point, I would have taken my bag of groceries and the extra cash that I was just about to give this taker and walked out the door.   NO ONE has the right to say that to you.

Yes, you are deff being too sensitive, if you need someone to tell you.  Just tell him and yourself you are beautiful, look how far I've come.  Sounds like he's just jealous and trying to keep the focus off him.  Also remind him what a good friend you are your hubby have been to him and that he shouldn't look a gift horse (haha) in the mouth.  We should all be greatful daily on our second chance at life and making it through surgery.  No explainations due to him next time just cut him off during the conversation you don't need to explain anything to him give him the website and tell him he should check into it!!!!   Good for you girl keep up the good work and congradutations - PaulaG

Sounds like he was just being mean, ignore it if you can, I know thats easier said then done.

Um, consider the source. And don't go see him any more. He's your husband friend, not yours.
