struggling with a decision-going back to work
thats what I was thinking also, that if I start out slow, I will be able to build myself up to it. It would be about the same on LTD, I believe, because they pay you 2/3rds, but you dont pay taxes on it. So I would imagine it would be close. Emotionally, I am going stir crazy being home, and I miss the constant contact with people. I suffer from bi-polar, and I do better when I am not alone. Like I said earlier, I will talk to the nurse tomorrow and see what her thoughts are. We always manage, dont we, whatever is put in our paths..........I could shoot my ex right about now as well :)

Please be careful going back part time. If you do go back from my recollection your 90 day clock on LTD starts ticking again. Should you not be able to work you may find yourself without income.
IF your boss feels you shouldn't go and your company is providing the LTD I suggest you start on LTD and stay off work for a little while longer to be sure you are fully recovered.

Hi there,
First of all...sorry about your health issues.
As for your LTD...usually insurance for a company (assuming that is what this is) is handled through a third party administrator (not your employer). In most cases...if your doctor has cleared you to go back to work...the insurance company will not pay you benefits despite what your boss might think. You should check your LTD policy and if it is not clear call your benefits provider (or HR) and ask how things work. Keep it fairly general...i.e. "If/when my doctor clears me to go back to work if I don't feel ready can I still get LTD benefits"...don't let them know your doctor has already cleared you as you may be able to get him/her to change that if you are not ready. You may find you don't have a choice but to go back to work. You may also want to check you policy for waiting periods should you have a relapse...some policies are written such that if you have a relapse within a certain time frame the waiting period does not apply again.
Just some thoughts.
Best of luck,
Jackie
