You may regret THIS one. The longest post I've ever written. Seven years of regret?
A late reply from a serial lurker.
Beth, the bariatric world, actually the world in general, is a better place for your presence in it! I always read every word you write that I can find, including your blog. I respect you for your honesty, your practical attitude, your courage in standing up for your convictions, and your persistence in searching foir answers for your self and, by default, all of us who do not lead "perfect" post-bariatric surgery lives.
Don't ever stop! You are meant to write a book. It won't be easy for you, but nothing is for you anyway, right? You have a lot of valuable insight to share with the bariatric world. You express yourself better than you think. With the right editor, you'd be a best seller!
I wish all good things for you, especially solutions to your ongoing and most current physical issues.
With deepest respect,
Mary Ann

Thank you so much for sharing MM. It could have happened to anyone.
I really admire your ability to at least pretend to be staying positive and funny and likeable throughout this whole ordeal. You might be faking it--but it's more than I could do!
It's incredibly stressful for me to have post op issues which may or may not be related to surgery/weight loss. And mine aren't even serious! When I even get the inkling that it might not be a good day, it takes all i've got to just throw on some sort of sweatpants, slick my unwashed greasy hair into a bun, and walk around all grumbly at people.

Beth:
It is an HONEST and from your heart post, and tells your journey and experience.
Yes, my surgery has been Unicorn farts and rainbows, but I know many peoples hasn't. My heart truly aches for all the complications you have had to endure (seizures, RH, etc).
I have always considered you a friend and someone to be respected and have liked your blunt style.
(((((hugs)))) and keep on writing! I hope and pray that someday, someway there will be a way that your seizures and RH can get under control...Whether through a revision or meds or??
I LOL'd over the "Miss Pouchie Poo"...hahahhaha! I never referred to my body parts by name either! I did have this surgery literally for a life saving intervention...The same way I had chemo and surgery for Ovarian Cancer. (I don't refer to my bygone Ovaries as "Those blasted ***** balls" either..LOL!)
Warmly,
Jackie
