I was fine til this afternoon. I have been doing laundry and my side is bothering me...i think I've just overdid it today...What would a leak feel like?

The pain in my left side lasted for a good 3 months.  Everytime I rolled over in bed it felt like a knife in my guts. It is finally getting better.

I had that too.  dont' know  what it was.  I did have some complications.  Might  go in for a checkup.

Sounds very familiar to me.  Once I started feeling more mobility I was getting more pain in the left lower quadrant.  Like a pulled muscle.  Well actually, it is muscular. At my post op appointment the Nurse told me that it's because of the torquing tool they use in that area.  And that it was ok.

She advised me to make sure to feel my incisions and abdomen, if they felt warm - which would suggest infection.

This is my experience ....

Thanks for your responses. I am feeling much better this morning. I thought that I had probably just did a little too much yesterday. I hadn't been hurting much til yesterday but I guess i am doing more now so that makes sense....My family was more worried than I was. I just wanted to get some opinions...

Tracy,

I had slight lower left side pain as well.  The pain got really bad when I over did it at the gym.  I also felt the pain in my side when I returned to work and had to get used to "sitting" all the time at my desk job.  The pain does go away.  If you ever think it could be something serious, just call your doctor's office or go to the ER.  I think you just overdid it and should be fine.  Congrats on your surgery!

I'd have had more than a pain in my side if I'd tried to do laundry three weeks out.

I had pain in my left side close to where the main incision was.....5 weeks post-op I ended up in the ER.  Turns out it was a bruise (not at clot) pressing on a nerve.  Took several more weeks for the pain to finally disappear.  I have been fine since then.  Hope your pain goes away soon.

Yep - probably just a big too much exertion.  Leaks should usually be accompanied by a fever as your body is fighting it.  Keep an eye on it.

I will definitely keep a watchful eye on it. It feels like a muscle cramp so I know it's nothing serious. My temp in like 97.7 so no fever and I feel fine too...It really only hurts when I move..I think if I had a leak I would be in constant pain..Thanks for the response. I appreciate it very much.
