OT: Stupid Thread!

Any thread about pain/medical issues and having to be told to CALL THEIR DOCTOR. The time it takes to get responses from people, they could have called/seen their doctor and known what's going on.

I love those

"I just had surgery and I am having EXCRUCIATING chest/left shoulder pain, and it's radiating down my left arm, should I call my surgeon?"

or

"I'm vomiting / passing a LOT of blood, should I be worried?"

Or worse... I once saw someone who said that they were vomiting stuff that looked like coffee grounds ..... that was bad enough, but I about tore my hair out when someone else responded with "that's nothing to be worried about"

Well the ones that get me is when someone posts a thread with a title of "Help" or "question" or "did you ever?" or any other inane topic guaranteed to not get many responses

Then SIX minutes later you get a second post from the person saying "You CALL this a SUPPORT BOARD?"

And in the second thread the person says "55 people read my thread, but NOBODY answered. What the heck kind of support is THAT? Now I know why people say OH is the least supportive website out there"

Those just crack me up.

Hi! Yep.  It's hard to give help when you don't know what is being asked!

Not a thread, just a post, and I've mercifully forgotten the exact wording---but someone asked at what point in the surgery did they take your fat off.

I'd answer "Just after they do brain surgery to change your food addiction issues"

Yup.... I always wonder how long that person's "forever" will last

I've lost 200 pounds.....and re-found a few of them now and again.... they're old friends and they like hanging around.

My favorites are: HELP, Need Advise, or For Women Only, and of course the one we all know and love...I just got og the hospital and I weigh 5 lbs MORE than when I went in!
 1. Help with what? If you're more specific, I'll think about it
 2. Advise for what? If you're more specific, I'll think about it
 3. If it says, "For women only," don't you think every man, alien, and child are
   gonna want to read it?
 4. How about reading some of the other posts, using the search feature, or what
    about just plain common sense?

I only strive to be, the kind of person my dogs think I am!

Of the choices we are given, it's no choice at all....
