Just when I thought our passport concerns were over....

You may have seen my last post about passport issues for my girlfriend that is traveling with me.

Anyways, so we thought things were going to work out per what the  congresswoman's office said.

apparently when contacting him them this week since the passport had still not arrived 10 business days later, he informed us that they had not actually sent it out yet, but to a different office...

NOW, they are telling us that the only way to get madi's passport in time is to pay 182 dollars to upgrade to an expedited passport book (She had originally ordered a passport card).  Considering that we had submitted everything they requested within the times they suggested I feel like this is bull **** and is completely unfair. Apparently the congresswoman's office cant do anymore than tell us that. Not only do i feel like thats not fair to FORCE someone to have to pay extra (after the amount of money we already paid between doing all the extra crap they asked of us) because THEY are taking their sweet ass time, but we cannot afford this. 

So a week from tomorrow I am more than likely traveling to TJ alone for my surgery. I am still happy about the surgery but this **** put a huge damper on my happiness. I really didn't want to go alone, but I also cant reschedule, so... yeah blahhhhh I'm basically just ranting and wanting a hug and that other people were fine alone.

there is a very small chance (so they say) that her passport card could still come...but we are no longer holding our breath for that. We have done everything and anything you could think of to try and get something to happen. Our last hope is that the Charleston branch where they are processing her passport card calls her back tomorrow and is willing to help her.

Im not getting my hopes up anymore. I hope nobody else has to go through this crap with the passport agency

 I didn't think the passport card was valid for air travel but could only be used to enter from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Bermuda at land border crossings or sea ports-of-entry.
 
I hope it arrives on time and everything works out.

We aren't traveling into mexico by air. We fly into san diego, a driver with beliteweight picks us up and drives us across the border into tijuana. Nonetheless we are scrambling together money, im just going full liquids the rest of the time and we are paying to upgrade to an expedited passport book. (182). Hoping it is going to be here in time... we shall see.

Surely with the expedited service you will get it in time, however it's a shame you had to fork over more money because they are slow.

Got some good news! This morning at 9 AM Fedex delivered her passport! we had to pay extra...but at least its here and she can now go with.

YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!
