1. Not sentimental at all (I end up having to keep things just cause my husband is - gotta love em)
2. Sold my wedding dress years ago - I bought it to small cause I knew I could lose weight before the wedding - didn't happen - had to have emergengy take out the week of and I thought I was about to die all day cause I could barely breathe in it. I was glad to see it go - I would have enjoyed my wedding day better without it.

I am a sentimental fool... I still have my wedding dress, too. (It was an informal thing... so it doesn't take up space in the closet.)
One interesting note... I got married in December 1973 and my dress was a size 12 back then... a friend of mine was at my house a couple of weeks ago. She wears a size 7 now... the dress fit her perfectly. So sizing has changed a LOT over the years... a 7 now was a 12 back thrity seven years ago!

I'd get rid of the wedding gown too. But... before you donate it to your garage sale, please make a phone call or two to an Army consignment shop and see if there is a particular shop that handles just wedding apparel for those in need. A wedding dress to a woman in need would bring tears to her eyes.
I feel so bad. After several years and an ex later, I just threw mine out.

That's a great idea. The proceeds of the garage sale are going into my kids piggy bank to pay for their dance classes next September, so I am trying to sell anything of value. They are really trying to save, because otherwise they won't be able to go back in September. That is why I am selling it for $5 or $10 though... Figured it would still be a great find for someone..
I am still loving life with my sleeve! Been maintaining at or below goal for over 4 years!
"People spend a lifetime searching for happiness; looking for peace. They chase idle dreams, addictions, religions, even other people, hoping to fill the emptiness that plagues them. The irony is the only place they ever needed to search was within." - Ramona L. Anderson
I am somewhat sentimental and did hang on to my first dress through the married years. About a week after we went our seperate ways, I turned it over to a consignment shop. I believe it was a size 20 with added panels. I am now preparing for my August wedding and although I really like my dress.... for some reason, I am no longer "In Love" with it....... think I am watching too many Bridal dress TV shows and second thinking it. Not really sure what I will do with it after the wedding. No daughters to save it for................ and I m guessing my 22 year old soon to be step daughter will have very different tastes then this 48 year old!
I still have my gown, shoes and vail after 19 years. I had the dress preserved, so it is packed away in a giant box in the closet. My shoes and vail are in my hope chest.
I often thought if I had children, I would use the fabric to make a christening dress. We never had children, so I am not sure why I still have it?
