Nope, you got me pegged correctly. I have toted that dress around through 9 moves so far. I am definitely getting rid of it. Especially since we want to downsize and move out of base housing in the fall. Everyone keeps telling me I am under-pricing all my stuff, but I look at it as people paying me to take it away so I don't have to cart it to goodwill. The money is a bonus!

I am still loving life with my sleeve! Been maintaining at or below goal for over 4 years!

Sentimental. Saved it for nearly 40 years, including shoes, veil and going away outfit. LOL

I saved it first for myself then had two nieces who I thought might like to wear a "family" gown someday.

Neither of them liked it and by that time We had a daughter so I saved it in case she wanted to wear it. Nope...which ws ok but just in case she wanted to think about it I wanted to have it on hand.

When DD got married 8 years ago,she was ready to pitch it right afer the wedding. It was HER DH who got sentimental and still has the dress and veil ( I hand made the veil) in the back of his closet!

I have thought about  donating it now and I will next time I run across it!

Sell it. There is another size 22 bride out there with a limited wedding budget.

Or you could always repurpose the fabric in the dress to make dresses for your girls. Or ring pillows for your girls future weddings.  Or something along those lines.

Either way, do what feels good to you.

Oh, and I'm sentimental. But I too got rid of my size 22 wedding dress. I don't have girls and it was just taking up space  not to mention a constant reminder that my marriage failed.

Who needs that.

I'm selfish, impatient, and a little insecure. I make mistakes. I am out of control and at times hard to handle, but if you can't handle me at my worst...then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.     ---Marilyn Monroe

First marriage--rented the dress, ditched the bum after 7 years.  Dress was a size 7,
Second marriage stuck--married for 17 years and going strong.  Wore my mother's dress/veil (size 18).  My parents were married for 45 years when she died.  Correllation:  Rental dress = temporary husband;  Mom's dress = successful marriage?

Neither of my girls want to wear the dress and they and neither could wear an 18, but I'm saving it for my grand-daughters.  If the dress is too fragile or yellowed, I will use the fabric to make ring bearers pillows or something.

If this wasn't my Mom's dress, it would've been gone a long, long time ago.
