Acute pain on the right side, just below the ribs. Tenderness or greater pain when you press there. Sometimes the pain stretches to the back and/or is accompanied by nausea. Those were my symptoms.
Pretty pretty please, don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f*ckin' perfect.

I keep seeing right side pain but mine is left, with consistent gas and pain after eating. It makes me not want to eat. but i full a tightness in my stomach and with gas and pain it isn;'t fun. I have no fried foods either. Almost like a nagging pain throughout my stomach with gas and gas is worse after eatting. Hope thsi makes sense.

Hmmm, your gall bladder is on the right, so I don't know. It could be something else.

I had pain in my entire upper stomach; left side and right side.  It was from my boobs to my belly button.  I felt it in the front of my body and on my back too.  The pain was excruciating; I couldn't breathe deep because it hurt so bad.  A trip to the ER showed that I was full of gall stones and that my gall bladder needed to come out.

I had pain in the upper abdomen, right in the center.  Turns out I had pancreatitis which was caused by sludge in the gall bladder.  They took it out 9 days ago and I feel so much better.

I also had nausea and diarrhea.

The fact that you said it gets worse after eating makes me think that you are dealing with a gall bladder problem.

Hope you get some relief soon.

On the additional weight loss issue, all I can say is this.  I was hospitalized twice with nothing to eat or drink either time (only IV fluids).  The first time I spent 3 days and 2 nights in the hospital and lost 3.5 lbs.  On the second goround (when I actually had the surgery), I spent 5 days in the hospital (4 nights) and gained about 5 lbs.  The second time was when I had the surgery.  I know it is all fluid retention which I am trying to get rid of as we speak.

The bottom line is that it can go either way.
