Plagiarism is a universal ethic, not confined to "term papers."

You consider yourself a TEACHER with that attitude? (Not to mention grammar, spelling, social skills.....)

Do TRY to learn a little something new. http://www.plagiarism.org/ :

"Many people think of plagiarism as copying another's work, or borrowing someone else's original ideas. But terms like "copying" and "borrowing" can disguise the seriousness of the offense:

According to the Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary, to "plagiarize" means

  • to steal and pass off (the ideas or words of another) as one's own
  • to use (another's production) without crediting the source
  • to commit literary theft
  • to present as new and original an idea or product derived from an existing source.

In other words, plagiarism is an act of fraud. It involves both stealing someone else's work and lying about it afterward.

But can words and ideas really be stolen?

According to U.S. law, the answer is yes. The expression of original ideas is considered intellectual property, and is protected by copyright laws, just like original inventions. Almost all forms of expression fall under copyright protection as long as they are recorded in some way (such as a book or a computer file)."

/end quote

So, my dear ignorant person, you are INDEED guilty of plagiarism.

Happily, ignorance is curable. Or are you stupid as well as ignorant? If that's the case, then please don't get WLS of any kind.

I read this only because it sounds similar to a medical spa I did for over 8 months..You drink nothing but protein drinks etc and gradually add foods back in..Problem was all I lost was fluids and 30 pounds as soon as regular food protein reintroduced weight came back on..All I lost was 30 lbs and out $4600.00..I cannot see a tongue patch that would cause pain..Weight loss surgery is suppose to be beneficial not painful for life..Regardless I agree it is ridiculous and why do this when you know Bariatric surgery will work.

This sounds like my experience with Optifast.

Welcome to OH and post whatever you like.

Other people on this Message Board (myself included) copy & paste stuff sometimes too.  It has created some stimulating dialogue.

I don't understand where all the hostility is coming from.

I typically don't copy an entire article, but will quote a portion of it and then provide a link to where I found the information so that people can read the rest of it if they want and then comment.

I think it's 1) because she is so new and hasn't told us anything about herself yet and 2) most of us who copy & paste don't copy entire articles and we give links which gives credit to the copywrite holder.

Thanks so much for your response, Liz.

Every Message Board has it's own culture and unique rules of ettiquette.  They take time to learn.  When I first came to OH in 2004 it took me a minute to find a place where I felt comfortable and to get to know different personalities.

Slamming a newbie because she didn't divulge personal information, but instead chose to share an article first seemed a bit extreme to me.  I would rather educate someone if I see them making a mistake rather than berate them.  I'm just sayin', it seemed kind of harsh and unnecessary.

Well, she could have said, I am a newbie looking for information about xyz surgery. And I also have seen these interesting articles (and then just post the inks).

1) she's 'telling people" she is a newbie and looking for information but the biggest issue 2) she is crediting the original source for the articles.

And that would not be divulging that much information, just enough to get started.

We all find a home on here and it's NOT usually the main board. :)

So what I am that means I cannot post on Article because I did not introduce myself first.

That's a bunch of bull, But whatever. And you wonder why people do the drastic things they do.

It over with now because I feel like she was harassing me by making a comment on every post I had, and it has been reported to the proper NJ Authorities

ROFLMAO. And what "proper NJ authorities" would that be?

I have actually been quite friendly to you most of the time, but now I will mock.
