174lb Down - Re-Construction Surgery on THURSDAY!
I am now down 174lb. Next Thursday I will be having the first of two re-constructive surgeries. This one will repair skin laxity in my upper body and also re-fill my breasts a bit (with my own fat). I talk about some pretty embarassing things in the video posted below and I am posting this here because there might be others out there who have alot of weight to lose that might want to know a bit about what I am going through in preparation for plastic surgery, and what massive weight loss has left my body like.
By the way, my surgeon says the best way to prepare physically is to get 120+ grams of protein a day, and after surgery, 200!!

Well, I am supposed to have 3 shakes with 60 grams each so that covers most of it. Although typically 30 is the max you would want to consume in an hour, while recovering from surgery apparently 60 grams at a time is fine. Not sure how long after surgery I will have to continue doing that.
Thanks for cheering me on :)

Great video. I'm 2 1/2 weeks post op brachioplasty and Fleur De Leis tummy tuck.
A couple thoughts regarding arms. For about 10 days I had trouble reaching forward, overhead and behind me. I could "wipe" but had to do it slowly from the "front."
Make sure to have a stool for the kitchen to get into cupboards as you can't reach them. I still have a 5 pound weight limit. Also put things you use frequently on refrig shelves and refrig drawers are difficult to pull open with sore arms.
I got my protein containers, Torani syrup & things I needed on the counter top so I could reach them. Same thing with towels, paper towels - anything you use regularly that are on high or low shelves.
I couldn't shower for a week - so had to have someone wash my hair as I couldn't lift arms up (my incisions go into my armpit).
I upped protein to 130+ grams for one month prior to surgery and have continued after. I'm also taking some special recovery formula during the healing period.
I wear a binder (because of TT) and I just tuck my boobs into the binder. I wear a mens sleeveless tee shirt under the binder. Can't get hardly any tops on - my current size, even sleeveless tanks are too small (so if you have any large sizes left that have big sleeve openings use them). Getting arms into anything is difficult because of incisions in armpit.
You are much younger than me - so I'm sure you will do fine. I'm not ready to return to work yet, but tummy tuck was extensive and really knocked me on my bumm.
Best wishes.
