Should I or shouldn't I?
The idiot who did my surgery really screwed me up, big time. Spent 10 months in hospitals and nursing homes because he didn't listen to me or other health care providers(visiting nurses, etc). Never wanted to see him again otherwise I would severely deck him. Well. he was fired from the hospital and no longer runs the bariatric wls center. The center brought in a new guy. I'm debating whether I should see the new guy or not. Any suggestions?

If its still affecting you, how badly he screwed you up, then go see the new guy and maybe he can help you.
but since the place hired the bad guy in the first place, theres no guarantee this guy is any better. maybe try to go to another bariatric clinic and new doctor and see if theres any way they could help you.

I am sorry to hear that you had a bad experience. I'm not sure if i would trust the same facility unless the new doctor came with a whole list of references
I'm not sure of what your exact location is but I had an incredible doctor. His name is Leon Katz and he practices out of Crozer Hospital in Chester PA. I just had my surgery a couple of week ago but he and his staff have been incredible on my journey. If you're interested just let me know and I can send you his information.

I would suggest you ask your attorney this question, to get a different perspective for future reference. If you have medical issues in the future due to past malpractice, then you don't want to set yourself up for failure. I am against "frivolous" lawsuits, and am also against people being harmed with no recourse. You don't know what may happen in the future. I would ask your attorney how not to hurt yourself should your symptoms continue/relapse.
I know what you're talking about. Sueing for malpractice is SUCH a huge pain in the butt. Unless you're independently wealthy, of course. My surgeon was a backwards dumbass who screwed me up, too. I could have sued him... IF I had tens of thousands of dollars to begin with... for expert witness testimony. I had several specialists who were willing to testify on my behalf, but I simply didn't have the money and couldn't GET the money because all the complications left me without a job. It's quite a vicious cycle. At some point, I just decided that it was enough that I was alive... but it still makes me angry that patients have so little recourse in this arena.
