To Band or not to Band?

kirmy, gotta say you look super cute girly...good job!

I call it the psycho band. As far as restriction it can vary so widely. Like just being able to eat a few bites in the  morning...........to absolutely NO restriction the rest of the day. Sometimes able to eat good dense protein in the AM...........then later yogurt doesn't want to go down. It can be very erratic!!!

My story is actually very common. There are a lot of bandsters that never reach restriction. That has basically been me. I got the band in Nov. '09. Had 16 fills in about 14 mos. Still no restriction after all that time! A lot of the time I was tight in the morning, then after that could eat anything and everything. So essentially I just paid like $15,000 to put myself on a diet! :-(

Anyway for about a month I have had some minimal restriction. This occured about 4 mos. after my last fill, since after 16 fills with no restriction I gave up and stopped wasting my money on the fills. So for no apparent reason............suddenly a little restriction. I am kind of assuming I am a little tighter b/c of the increase in temperature? Some on the forum have mentioned that can happen.

I am however one of the lucky ones. Other than the no restriction thing, I really haven't had any serious complications. Others have. I have heard some of the saddest stories on this forum. Slip after 2 mos...................erosion after 1 mo.............ppl getting two bands and then it still NOT working. And some ppl on here actually have permanent damage from the band.

Please read on the revision forum and see how many ppl are revising FROM the band!!! Listen to their stories. I only wish I had done that before I got my band!
