Fed Up With Unflavored Protein Powders! HELP!!!
I'm over 5 years post op and I still use an unflavored whey isolate protein powder added to foods. I add primarily to oatmeal or SF pudding. But I've also added to soups, veg. refried beans, chili, etc. One of my support group members cooks a yam, cuts off a portion, mashes it with a fork, and adds the protein powder. I use a generic I found about 4 years ago. Mixes readily, almost dissolves itslef in fluids (as in the water in oatmeal or the FF milk in SF pudding). Usually, the odor of a food is pretty indicative of it's taste. The opened bag of this generic protein smells like almost nothing, and all the post ops that have tried the product at tasting "nights", say that it really has no flavor. My surgeon's bariatric nurse often refers pateints to call me about this protein. I even diluted some of the protein in a small amount of water, added some antioxidant berry juice, and mixed it up with some semi crushed ice from my fridge. It ended up like a berry snowcone (albeit smaller) . DAVE

The unflavored I used early out and added to broth or sf pudding or nsa applesauce.
The best protein powder I have had is Lean Dessert. It is a whey blend. There are several flavors of that. They don't make an unflavored.
Btw.............Have u heard about the Atlanta WLS Meet n Greet? It is just in the planning stage. Will prob. be in Sept.
