I don't know where you are, but you need to visit me. My MOM designed clothes, and left me a form. This gene skipped in me completely. She gave me a Singer when I was a newly wed, which should be called Stinger, because I'm helpless. I mend, I hem. That's it.

I so want to pass on my mom's sketches and love of design, but my sons and grandsons? Not so much.

All I need are some designs for ppl with no legs, so to speak. LOL

My poor mother. She despaired of getting me to sew. I cut hair, that's where my "eye" is. I took sewing twice. Good thing I'm handy at other things,. I passed 101 by organizing the fashion show. LOL I passed the next one because I tried so hard and was nice, but so did not get it.

Her designs are a la 1938-41, vicinity so posed like your models, but often with cig in hand. Her wedding dress is actually textured so the bodice appears and feels to be pearls. Her bathing suit cover she did make in that fabric shown and is the only piece I have that matches its design. Seersucker, and she wore it and I wore it, so is barely a rag, but I kept it anyway.

There are several completed ones in color, and books of body parts. LOL Now, my mother was a bit odd and she kept these - carelessly stored in her garage all those years. I rescued them in 2000, so some are water stained around the edges.

She also lived in Manhattan Beach, so collected movie star autographs. Now, those, I suspect are worth a lot. However, she was a hoarder. I simply wore out before that last batch of junk was sorted. I know they're in there, but I just haven't faced the task. The designs, though, are safe.

I would so love to put them into the hands of someone who would appreciate them. The dress form is worth a few bucks on ebay, but I'd rather see it go to a good home.

I live in WA State.

However, we WILL be in Clinton, CT July 7, I think. We will meet a group there. Today, we decided doing the whole NE tip was just too much for Don, so we extended that stay a day or so and the Schenctady one, which is where is family is.

If you want to meet us in CT, email [email protected] because he's got the list of contacts. I'm reservations, he's contacts. LOL

I love my brother as well! LOL. Although I admit I haven't used it as much in the last couple of years as I should have. I hope to start sewing again soon! I just wish I was as good at sewing as you are! I really need to start making me some new clothing!

Girl...where do you find the time?  The dresses look fab! Great job.  I have my mom's Husqvarna and virtually no time to devote to sewing.  But I would really like to now that I can wear all the cute (and smaller size 8) patterns I used to wish I could try.

Keep up the good work!

Lia .... I make the time LOL ... and it is not all that time consuming ... I just have fun with it... this machine is totally mobile and portable... it even comes with its own travel bag on wheels that you can just make it as portable as a project runway project ... it has traveled to a couple areas in my house already ... where quality time with family while pushing a few buttons on my fun machine is an awesome family experience LOL...

Girl ... with all the cute stuff you can make for yourself and that awesome gift from your mom I would be sewing for sure LOL

Wonderful!!!!  What pattern did you use for your polka dot dress and also the black one with the sweetheart neckline? I love those styles and have just the material for both of them.
