I am 100 % sure she will have a horrible, short and reviled life even free ( IF they turn her loose now which I dont think they will for some years ... ) . She has to live with the fact of her daughter's death AND the fact that EVERYONE knows her face and many people pretty much hate her .
VERY VERY tough to live with ... in or out of jail .
The woman is really permanently branded with this crime .. forever . Im sure she will pay .. she already has and will continue to ...
Men who stalk and shoot their innocent wives and girlfriends in the face with blatant premeditation and threats and glaring danger and hatred to children bystanders and others dont serve the amount of time or get anywhere near the REACTION we have to this poor girl's confused actions .... WHY NOT ?

The longest possible sentence for the four counts (misdemeanors, not felonies) she was convicted of is one year per count. Casey has been in jail since Oct '08 almost 3 years...chances are, they will let her off with time served and release her tomorrow. Even if the judge gives her the maximum, she will be out in Oct '12.
I am impressed by the arguments from those supporting the rightness of the not guilty verdict, on the grounds of lack of evidence from the prosecution to establish a case beyond reasonable doubt. I live in New Zealand and we have heard nothing about this case, so i don't know any of the details. However just from reading the above posts, I can thoroughly agree that the acquittal was justified. As already stated, acquittal does not mean that the woman was innocent of any part in her daughter's death necessarily, but as no-one apart from those involved actually knows what did happen, due to the lack of information in the form of evidence, it's certainly pointless for anybody else to speculate about it. Some of those posting on here seem to suffer from an inability to reason correctly, and just want their prejudices to be confirmed.
I also have to ask, why are the hanging folk getting so hot under the collar? While this certainly seems like a tragic case, why are some folks taking it so personally, what could the death of this poor wee girl possibly mean to them in a personal way, considering that they did not know her? Only for those who knew her personally would it be understandable to get so upset about her death, i would have thought? I believe some of the posters here really lack perspective.

I am a mother, teacher and child advocate. I have witnessed and been involved in defending children who are/were being neglected and/ or abused. I am not only hot under the collar, I am pissed off any time a child is harmed and the offender is given a slap on the wrist. I am passionate about defending those who cannot defend themselves. My perspective is just fine.
My question is what kind of person doesn't get a sick feeling knowing that the child died at the hand of her own mother? How can this not anger someone? Neutrality is an example of having a lack of proper perspective.

We have legal themed tv programs here Robyn where ex-prosecutors have been laying out this case in the media for YEARS literally .. BEFORE Casey Anthony was even ARRESTED ... and whipping people into a lynch-mob like frenzy with constant sweet pictures of the little girl .....
a LOT of Tv people have been drawing fat salaries off this for YEARS here ... and the more prejudicial and scandalous sounding the more viewers it attracted ...
I guess some people want to see "justice done " .. get some sort of vengeance ... whether or not the accused actually murdered her ...
Im VERY curious to see how the media tapdances now that Casey Anthony is officially innocent...

Given all the evidence I have read... not to mention her labyrinth of lies, the verdict sickens me. Regardless of the verdict, this woman's "beautiful life" is over as she has rightly been convicted by society.
But take do take to heart these words by Voltaire...

I see a scuzzy reality TV show in her future.

I'm not a proponent of the death penalty.
Here's my thing. There was a child neglect charge thrown in there. Your child being missing for a month isn't some form of neglect? Regardless of if the childs death was an accident, intentional, ect. Isn't there some aspect of the neglect charge that this case met?

The defendant was not charged with child neglect. In addition to the murder and manslaughter charges, the defendant was charged with Aggravated Child Abuse. However, the prosecution failed to present evidence which satisfies the elements of that offense. Hence the not guilty verdict on the aggravated child abuse charge.
Casey Anthony is a very smart person. She fits the profile of a child murderer (young, tied down by her kid, lead the police on a wild goose chase for weeks keeping them from looking near her home, lying about her whereabouts and the whereabouts of her child, looking for people who were entirely ficticious, and blaming her parents, when the child's body was found). She got away without a murder conviction, but her life isn't going to be a bowl of cherries.
The family has been destroyed in this process and Casey is responsible for that...I didn't pick up any vibe off George watching his body language or his interactions with Casey before Caylee's body was found that would indicate that she had been molested by him...and I have pretty good antennae when it comes to that sort of thing.
I really don't think this family was any more dysfunctional than a lot of families, except that their daughter, Casey, appears to be a psychopath who cares only about herself (as evidenced by her phone call the day she was arrested when she stated "...all anyone cares about is Caylee...").
It is a complete shame and a lot of people have been hurt. My biggest concern is that she will do it again. She uses people and objectifies them and a baby to her might just be a tool to get what she thinks she wants at the moment, only to be disposed of when it is no longer of use...

Do you realize that Caylee's paternity was to tested to see if Casey's own brother was the father? It was negative, and now there is speculation that Casey's own father could have been Caylee's father as well. This is not your average family. If that girl is in fact a monster, she's the home-made kind. But given these details, I'm at least willing to consider her version of the events. Especially given that there was no evidence in the Prosecutions case. Casey will never have anything resembling a normal life.
