Never enough food?

Good morning all,

I'm completely addicted....more than that I have to have it around me. I always feel like I'm going to run out. Right now I know I have two weeks or more in my house. Somehow I always have anxiety about running out. No matter how much I have in my house I feel the same. I can't figure out why I feel this way. I never have gone without...its completely irrational...I keep it secret...I never really told anyone how I feel. Does anyone ever feel this way?

Not exactly, no---but pre-op, I WAS always hungry. Which in turn made me anxious about running out of food. Since my surgery, I have 'normal' hunger---but I do still tend to keep a lot more food on hand than I actually NEED.

I end up wasting a lot of food because I have to have it all.  I never know what I am going to feel like eating so I like to have lots of different things on hand just in case I get a craving for "whatever."

Many times I don't feel like cooking, or don't have time so I never get around to using some of the things I "must" have on hand.   I am not one for a lot of frozen or processed food, so I buy a lot of fresh stuff, which of course must be used before it goes bad.

I probably will always be like this and I don't even try to fight it.  When I retire this coming September, I hope to be able to have more time to shop for just what I am going to use in the next couple of days and have more time to cook what I do buy.

Some people just like to be prepared with the things that are important to them.  Alcoholics have liquor stashed everywhere.

Hi petiteposies, I'd be happy to be there for you (((hugs))). I'm so relieved I'm not the only one. I've never even thought about how alcoholics keep alcohol around. I do go to a support group. I don't say too much. I thought I had some strange problem. Logically I know there is always food at the store I just feel like I'm running out all the time. I have lost 28 pounds but no surgery yet. I don't eat bad...lol I want to.

You REALLY need to adjust your font size---it's really tiny.
