Bummed!!!

I found out just 3 days ago I do have to go on a diet for 2 wks prior to surgery, so will prepare for this first. Then, I will plan for the 2 wks after surgery, and then the 2nd 2 wks after surgery. I think from what I've learned here...I will have to shop ahead of time for supplies.
So, I am cruising all your suggestions for inexpensive Internet connections; vitamins, protein powder, etc. What do ya think?
Tracy...just take these ladies advice and you will make it thru just fine...stay in touch, we are watching your progress...hugs...SBV
Hi Tracy. I agree that you probably are not eating enough. Making better choices is very important. It is HARD! Luckily I like a large variety of foods, I cook, buy the food for my household, etc. That gives me some control over what is in the house to snack on. A good thing for me because if it's not there, I can't eat it!
I had stalls every now and then also. It came off fast and easy for the first few months.
It helped me to read the "accountability" posts. I saw what foods others were eating, how much they would have, etc.. This helped me in getting fresh ideas and keeping me from getting tired of the same things over and over.
Being prepared is also a must for me. I keep protein bars in the car. If I know I'm going to be out for a while, I take a cooler/lunchbox with me too. Having healthy snacks around helps me. I like veggies w/ low fat dressing, beef jerky, cottage cheese, yogurt, tuna, etc. Get creative with what you like.
Learning new, healthier habits while your losing weight is going to help you keep the weight off once you reach your goal.
Your loss will kick in again soon. It seems like forever, but the scale will move again for you.. Keep up the good work. : )

Hi Tracy - first of all, congratulations on how wonderful a job you've done so far. It's obvious that you are trying so hard to be successful, but you need a little guidance. And it's good you're asking for a little help.
One thing that hasn't been addressed, and an important aspect of the whole WLS experience, is counseling. My WLS's program emphasized that along with the proper diet, that exercise, taking your supplements, and connecting with a good therapist were all vital.
I won't bore you with the details, but I can tell you that once you have discovered why you overeat and what your food triggers are - you will be totally amazed. Tracy, for you and anyone else reading this - please don't skip the counseling portion of your journey to good health.
Best of luck to you, Tracy.

Hi Tracy. You are going in the right direction and this is great! It's just a minor bump in the road in the form of a stall. As previous posters said, your body is trying to catch up. Take this momentary pause in your weight loss to get your house in order...first and foremost, I would start the log process. I use Fatsecret.com which also has a Droid and iPhone app to track everything that goes in my mouth. This will keep you accountable and let you know where you are during the day. There are other sites and apps out there so find one that works for you. Also, NEVER leave the house without some backup food in your purse. I carry jerky or a protein bar in my purse whenever I leave the house. I don't ever want to be caught empty handed in the world of carbs and crap. You can do this!!! Best of luck to you!
