Anxiety before surgery?

I too was like you.. I had put all my affairs in order prayed told my husband about my life insurance policy.. Told my mom what she was to get if I died during surgery.. Couldn't sleep the night before, cried and worried a lot.. Went to surgery the next day asked them to give me something to relax me prior to surgery and abot 1/2 hour before they I walked into the surgery room I had a feeling of peace about my decision. Prayed to my favorite aunt and told her you always wanted to be the boss now boss the doctor's hands and asked GOD to guide them.. I don't remember much about the surgery went into the room layed on the bed and I dont know if I fell asleep before they gave me the meds or not.. but I do know that I was in the best hands God being number one and my aunt being number two.. Heck I dont even remember recovery when I woke up I was in a room and was seeing my father inlaw the Preacher coming into the room.. I thought at that point I was dying or dead cuase he lived 3 hours away and I didn't know he was coming down for the surgery.. But GOD is GOOD ALL THE TIME!.. Remember that and he will make you at peace for surgery.  See you on the losers bench!

I am 30 days till surgery and the anxiety is already setting in.  I think too much, probably.  I am excited to get the surgery because I want my life back and I want to live a happy and healthy life.  I have had surgeries before without really feeling scared. I have a GREAT faith.  This time is different somehow.  Reading all your responses has brought tears to my eyes.  I'm trying to look at it as a countdown to my new and wonderful life!!
