I was wondering if anyone has had lapband with plication and how it has went for them. I am considering this or VSG. Please respond and let me know how plication is for you or someone you know.

Don't be a guinea pig!  Get the VSG.  I've already read horror stories about plication.

Why after all the negative information that is posted on OH in regards to the band would you consider the band ?

I often wonder the same thing. It baffles me. Do people think all the lapband complications only happen to "other" people?

Yes.

They only happen to other people and those other people all don't follow 'the rules' and that's why their band fails.

Well that's what they tried to tell me on the band boards anyway.

The reason people fail is because of bad food choices and not following their surgeons program. ANY wls can fail if you are not commited to following your surgeons protocol. It is also a part of informed consent. There are risks with any surgery. You have to weigh the risks and the benefits. Mona

And you'll keep drinking that koolaid until YOU have a slip, erosion or some other band related BS that you know you didn't cause.

That's really insulting to all the people who tried their damnedest and had complications with the band.

And yes, any WLS can fail, but none even come close to the failure rate of the band.
