Thank you Esther, I am here to learn and I've learned a lot already! I still have not made a final decision on which surgery will be better for me, I am in this for the long haul. I wish you well with your weight loss endeavors too.

You really are clueless and have a serious case of tunnel vision.

All surgeries recommend lean protein and complex carbs, ie, fruits and veggies!!  DSers can eat more fat and get away with it, but all surgeries advocate the same basic diet.  Some surgeons are food Nazis and have their pts on extreme low carb.  Not everybody needs to be on a diet like that to lose weight, some do.

Most banded people, successful or not, have a hard time eating lean protein, fruits and veggies.  They get stuck and hurt like hell.  Your sister is the exception.

Now that I have a sleeve, I can eat everything without one bit of problem.

You are such a doubter that I think you should get the band learn for yourself.

Oh, and I got my WLS for vanity reasons.

Hi Phyllis, thanks for your perspective, I am not really a doubter, I just look at things cautiously before I make a leap. Sure I would love to get any surgery where I am able to eat all the foods I want without being sick or suffer complications and lose weight, that is what I am aiming for, I am not in this to be a Sleeve supporter or band supporter, I am in this to find a surgery type that will assist me in my weight loss efforts with less risk of immediate or long term complications this is why I am learning and observing.

Have the lapband, you deserve it.  It IS a diet, and the long-term results are so steller.   Yeah, that's it.

Sorry I "sicken" you. Except not really.... Really you can kiss my grits.

Not to mention, if you really think someone who is 80-100 pounds overweight could just diet and exercise and the weight would be gone, then you are just as ignorant as the person who thinks all WLS is cheating. After all, you once had "only" 80-100 pounds to lose. How did getting it off and keeping it off work for you? Not to good if you got even fatter ...

This is no different than that JJ guy that was on here trying to stir up a hornets nest.  Post some controversial and rude to a particular group.....it goes out on interwebz....and brings back tons of traffic to your site.

Thanks for posting the article here so I didn't have to go to her site. :)

It's pure stupidity.  Although it made my blood pressure go up reading it initially and my first thought was to blast the author, it's not worth my effort and time to respond.

Idiots abound, enuff said.

Wow.  I laugh at anyone who wants to cause any of us grief for taking the'easy' way out.

I feel that I DID take the easy way out.  I feel that all the things I did (as many others on these forums did) before we got to this point was the HARD way.

How big of a nincompoop does one have to be to wash their clothes in a creek over a big rock by smacking said clothes repeated with a small rock; when there is a washer and dryer readily available for their use?

Easy way out?  Yes.  DUH!!!
