Another newbie says hello

welcome to OH & I wish you all the best. I don't mean to sound harsh but you need to think about this:

 since money is such an issue, if you were to have Rny or DS and then for some reason lose your health insurance (I know, God forbid  - but it happens) could you still afford to have the labs done that you need and take the supplements?

for VSG there is less need but still - you HAVE to have labs done and supplement, especially Vit D and B12 - is there any chance you wouldn't be able to afford this as a post op?

What stands between you and regain is you, how bad do you want to be a size 12 or 6 or 4, because at some point all surgeries are going to allow you to eat more, and potentially regain.  I chose the rny to "cure" my diabetes and hopefully dump, which I do which helps me to stay near goal, I would probably die if I ate a pint of ben and jerrys and believe me there are days I would like too.  So the surgery is a jump start, a springboard if you will to get you close to that magical number, once you maintain you are your own worst enemy.  Do you believe nothing tastes as good as thin feels?  Its kinda true, although we all have our days that we say who the **** cares and eat the bad stuff too.  You just have to have those days very infrequently.
