Ok,

So 4 weeks out, I know that I have to exercise (and I have been craving it a little too) to lose weight. Problem is that I am not comfortable in a big group of people. I have been wanting to learn how to walk, and then run properly and safely. I had intended on joining the  RUnning Room's fitness walking group on Monday night, but couldn't because DH had to do inventory at his work that night, which is fine, it only happens 4 times per year. I was going to put off going until next Monday.

Instead I decided (a little fearfully) to go to the Wednesday night practice walk. As i drove by the store there were sooo many people and I just cringed. I admit, I drove by the store intending to forget the whole thing. But something inside me said I had to do this, so Ipulled into a nearby parking spot, and walked back to the store.

Right away, I met some wonderful people. They even made a small subgroup for me, because I told them I just had surgery and they created a 2.5 km route without hills for me on the spot. I was so grateful! A couple of other ladies came along because they weren't up to doing intervals last night. It was really nice and I can't wait to go back on Sunday.

I felt really good at the end of it and I surprised myself in that I felt like I could go another kilometer or so. I also am proud that I overcame my general fear of people to do something that was so important to me personally.

Now onto spiders, heights, confined spaces and in-laws (just kiddin gon the last one)

Good for you!  It can be extremely daunting to start an exercise regime, and even more daunting to join a group.  I really hope you continue to enjoy it!

If you figure out how to conquer your other fears, let me know, I could use some help with all of those. LOL
