Hey, Folks:  I still exploring 1)whether i qualify to have surgery; 2) whether my med plan will pay (217 lbs.; 37.5 BMI; 5'3", with only risk of co-morbid).

Just curious, not that it really matters, does your shoe size (width) change when you lose 60-100 lbs?

I don't know that it changes for everyone. I have lost only 60 pounds so far, but my shoes are showing signs of being too big. I have read many posts about shoe sizes changing up to 2 sizes. And going from wide width to regular.

Some have shoe size changes and others don't.   I guess it depends on how wide your feet are to begin with.   If you have "fat feet" your shoe size will probably go down.   It is kind of a wait and see game.

If you've needed larger sizes as you've gained weight, odds are you will need smaller sizes as you lose.

I wore 8-1/2 wide when I started, went down to 6-1/2 medium.  After bounceback weight gain of 18 pounds, now wear 7-1/2 medium.

I've lost about 75lbs. my shoe size when I started was 9 1/2 wide, I'm not wearing 8 1/2 to 9 medium width.

I went down 2 sizes after losing 120 pounds.  So yes, even our feet get smaller.  YAY!
I got my sleeve on March 14, 2011.  I love it so far!

Hi,

I would think you qualify, but wish you luck with the process.  I lost A half shoe size 7.5 to 7, but it was the change in width that was the big problem that caused me to redo my entire shoe wardrobe (thank goodness I am not a shoe freak and there are a lot of shoe warehouse kinds of places).  I now own more shoes than I have ever owned at one time because the cute and tall are COMFORTABLE!  For me that is the huge difference!  :-)

Good luck!

Janice
