vitamin question
You do need to take your B12 sublinqually or by shot or nasal spray.

You are correct. Despite what the company that makes and sells them says, you will not absorb much of the B12 in Opurity. You need the sublingual, nasal spray or shots.
Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me. If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her. Check out my blog.
Crap! I just switched to oPurity not so much for the cost, but for the ease of taking only 1 multi plus 3 Calcium+D3 s a day. Before that I was using Fusion, they claim the B12 is absorbable there too, right? and what about the whole mixing the iron with calcium.
I'm feeling stupid, okay, at least very ignorant & naive! I actually thought that these formulations were good for me, and that the manufacturers were trying to meet our needs. =-(
I totally appreciate your posts, but am now disappointed and frustrated. Who/what CAN be trusted?

Hi Leslie
I am sorry you are disappointed. Just a reminder, our complete Return Policy is: "Yes you can return it".
Call or email if we can help with that.
We absolutely believe that Bypass Patients should NOT rely solely on oral multi's for their B12. Go with your surgeon's recommendation on shots or sublingual, but also test regularly, long term.
We provide this same message to customers who talk with us on the phone, but this thread has highlighted the need to get that message onto our website as well.
The reason we include the high-dose B12 in the BYPASS Optimized Multi is that the is *limited* research that suggests that there is something called passive absorption. What is suggests - perhaps - is that a small amount, 1 to 2% of the B12 taken orally, is absorbed farther down the small intestine.
We don't believe that this research is nearly sufficient for someone to rely on. The stakes are too high. But we do believe that including the B12 at high levels could be helpful to some patients in some cases, and does no harm.
Does that help?
Separately, the amount of calcium in our multi is very small...we concur that large amounts of calcium taken with iron results in competition between those two.

Well, I must say that I am impressed with your response, Jerome @ Unjury!
That actually helps me to believe more in the product -as I was starting to falter. I did purchase some sublingual B12 today and added that to my routine until I see my regular doc & decide whether or not to do injections instead. Please do add this information to your website, because I felt deceived instead of reassured, and that doesn't do any good for anybody!
Thank you for taking the time to respond and address this!
