Really? You don't mind only losing 60% or so of your excess weight?

Yup 60% would be great.  Every weight loss surgery is a tool.  In the end Diet and Exercise are what's going to make the real difference.  It would put me at about a BMI of 33.  I've already lost 41 pounds on my own.  I think Sleeve would probably be the best choice.  If I have to reroute my intestines, yup DS is the surgery.

As far as getting denied.  I don't know if I can even get a denial.  I mean the nurse flat out said my insurance didn't cover it.  So I'm wondering...how would I even do an appeal?

You should start a new thread with a title along the lines of,"Help Please with Insurance Appeal." Then people who can help you will see it.

Oh, and I don't diet or exercise, fyi. My surgery changed my metabolism so I can eat like a normal person and still retain a normal weight.

Me, too.

My body used to fight me to stay over 200 pounds. Now it fights me to stay around 120 (115 before I decided to go nuts with the weight training. LOL)

In the end, most of us here had WLS because diet and exercise didn't work. We had screwed-up metabolisms FROM dieting, and while exercise is important to one's overall health, it doesn't really serve as a weight-loss tool.

Mine denied me the first time and I did a second request and then it was approved. Don't give up!
