Hair Loss = Mind Loss :(
I am 2.5 years post op & my weight has been pretty much stable (within 5-7pds) for almost a year & yet within the last six to eight months I have lost more hair than I did right after surgery. I have had my blood tested for vitamins, minerals & thyroid & everything is great! The only thing I do not get enough of is water which I take Mirolax once daily for to help in the bowel area. I am thinking water could not make my hair fall out!
I absolutely hate protein shakes but I think I am getting enough protein from other sources but perhaps this could be a bit of an issue.
Anyway, if you can offer me any sort of advise.
I am also taking Biotin to help with the hair loss as per the pharmacist.
Thanks :)

Another poster posted something to this affect which I thought was brillant she learned froma specialist..
There are two type of hair(ill say A and B)
Well the A hair is the good hair that stays and regenerates..The B hair is the hair that is going through the about 3 month process of falling out. If you look at your hair when it falls out, look to see if it has a little scalp on the end. If it does then thats the hair thats supposed to be falling out..If its the A hair, that means your losing the healthy hair that you DONT want to be losing.
How are your protein related markers? They don't have to be clinically "low" to be trending in a problematic direction. And hair is one of the first things that goes away when your body is worried about protein.
There are other ways to get in protein. If you aren't going to find a shake to gag down (you should go to www.vitalady.com and order a crapload of samples and try them; surely you have not tried EVERY available supplement yet?), then try some bars. Eat more meat, fish, fowl, cheese, eggs..... How much protein are you REALLY getting in? Track it by weighing your foods and measuring what you're getting. Chances are you need more.

low IRON and ZINC and PROTEIN levels are generally the culprits when hair loss is AFTER 6 months post op .
now regular Iron is NOT absorbable by us.... but every other form is . I get ferric sulfate .. easy Iron things like that . Stopped the loss in ITS TRACKS ( that and zinc pills ) .
There are WONDERFUL hair regenerating / growing / thickening / strengthening supplements out here . I STRONGLY encourage U to take these .. available at GNC ....etc.
most of the GRRLS i meet in modeling with AMAZING waist length hair take these religiously - I take mine sporadically and i STILL have enough hair to choke a horse lol .... at least thats what my last go-see client said

Dont forget to brush regularly with a BOARS HEAD brush to help circulation to the scalp ! That ALWAYS helps beautiful, shiny , long hair along .. since Victorian times ...

another easily available one is Comfort Iron at the vitamin Shoppe - 25 mg of Iron Bisgycnate
elemental Iron isthe one that DOESNT get absorbed by us so I avoid supplements with that form .. ..
Minoxidil also stops the hair loss temporarily ... itll make U FEEL at least like Ure in control but U haveto keep reapplying it after U shampoo .
I tried it during the most active fall- out stage and it worked well ... I used the womens version and reapplied it when i remembered to which was maybe 1/4 as often as the box told me to .
It still worked pretty well.

Ull see things Ur supplements are working when U get a bunch of poofy new growth at the roots . That alone WILL make U feel a lot better because it gives the hair an illusion of thickness and you .. youthfulness .
