4 Year lapbander having reverse to Sleeve
Hello. I'm a 4year post op lapbander! YAY! I haven't been on here in awhile! I lost about 120lbs from the band/eating right/excerise! 4 years later and 1 child birth down the line my band is no longer working. I haven't been able to have any restrictions with the band. Filled as tight as possible! so now I'm going under the knife to have it removed and have the vertical sleeve done OCT 21st. I gained about 40lbs back and it is just rising! Just would like to get some feedback from anyone who has had the removal of the band and than the sleeve. I switched surgeons as well. I was told that if I have too much scar tissue I will have to have the band removal than the sleeve done. EEK the tought of going under twice is terrible! So anyone who has had this done I would love to have some insight! Thanks so much!
You might consider cross-posting this on the Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy board. We have a number of folks over there who've had tremendous success.
Good luck

Thanks. I actually gained 15pounds during my pregnancy and that was 1 1.2 years ago and lost all of my baby weight. My post explains clearly about the weight gain. It is nothing from post pregnancy. It is a RESTRICTION ISSUE/MINOR SLIPPAGE which is nothing related to my past pregnancy. Exercise has been in my daily routine for the past 4years from having my lapband. Unfort it is all too common with people reversing from the band to another surgery. I know many people who went from the band to Gastric within the 4-5 year range. Good Luck to you as well! IT is a long very hard journey! You are just in the beginning stages! It gets tougher as you get further into your post op time! It's a great life changing choice!
Thanks Shana..i hope its a GREAT life changing choice.....i had heard about the sleeve but i didnt no much about it so i was afraid ton have it....imy sister had the band for about 7 years now and she never had no problems so i went with that....Hopefully i will get this 70 pds off and i will be good......good luck with the sleeve....PS...hope i can keep the weight off......dont want to go back under the knife....i hated the pain after....

Sorry...you really just need to WATCH for a while and see what happens to people months and years out from that surgery.
