Going to my PCP Monday to tell

Her that I am going to Mexico for surgery on November 10th.
Hope she is supportive!!! I need her to check and see if the anti-biotics that I too for H-Pylori worked.
I had it 2 years ago this December. I never really thought aboit it until people were mentioning it on her a few days ago. I know the blood test will still show a pos. for a while so it my have to be a stool sample (Ewww).
Wish me luck !! I hope she will do my follow up blood work after surgery as well.
I really don't want her to say she won't treat me after......fingers crossed.

I too thought I could get one over on my PCP. I went for a surgery consult and by the time I went back to my doctor she knew.( they sent her a letter for paperwork ) I was embarrassed to ever ask her but when she said she got the letter she's behind me 100%.She has been a wonderful help in getting me motivated and speeding up the process. She even went and bought me a camera for pictures before and after. She wants me to take lots. My RNY is schuled for 10/31.

Why were you trying to "get one over on your PCP?"

Did it surprise you that your surgeon's office contacted her?  I assume you signed a release form giving them permission to do so.

Well, in the case, she does't support you, feel free to find one that does. You need someone to support you. I'm assuming your surgeon will require some pre op bloodwork and tests, you will need that and you need someone to run your labs at 3, 6, 9, and 12 months post op. It is not a big deal if you need to find another one. Be prepared either way.

In my case....I thought she might NOT support my choice.But boy was I wrong. And as for the letter ...I was just surprised they sent it so quick.
