Band removed today revision in 4weeks!

Stories like this make me so angry.  I hope you can fully recover.  You will be so amazed at relief you will feel now.  You will appreciate the natural way of eating with the sleeve.

I researched the band for 5years and this surgeon also, before I decided to do this. It really ticks me off that I'm going through this right now! I was never told about liver damage and not being able to see slippage through x ray, and seeing a normal x ray did not mean there was no damage. After all these years my band was becoming engulfed and all the pain I had dealt with and it went ignored. It is totally unacceptable. As long as he has a huge fat paycheck and keeps them coming my issues did not matter. I just am beyond thankful I followed my gut feeling and went to another surgeon! I always was against seeking legal advice because everyone makes mistakes but this was doctor neglect and I can not let this slide and will not. The band is a money making scam!

I am revising to RNY on the 2nd of Nov. , if you dont mind me asking what was your symptoms? I hate this crap- band. I have pain on occassion but I am completely unfilled and it "shows" no slippage on fluoro. Just curious. thanks

I had a lot of stomach pain . Turns out it was from my liver. Severe severe acid reflux, hard time swallowing. All my x rays came back normal even the cat scan. So this is where it stopped. I got tired of the non caring attitude of my past so called top notch surgeon and switched and found out all this unbelievable news! Good luck on your revision! There was too much damage and bleeding to do both at the same time for me. What's your reason for revision from the CRAP band?

My reason is because every time i got a fill i ended up with an unfill. Never really got restriction, either its too tight or too loose. AND i am 28 pounds HEAVIER than I was when i started.  I have a pulling tugging feeling sometimes, scar tissue i am guessing. He is hoping to do the removeal and revision all at once but we have to see how it goes. I am praying for ONE uneventful surgery and life lol!

Glad you're all right. I'm sorry you went through this. I wonder if we had the same surgeon. Mine was a dick.  I had chronic, severe pain daily and he told me "nothing was wrong" and I should "get a hobby." Turned out that the band had caused my stomach to twist into a Figure 8, my intestines were kinked and my diaphragm damaged. Some doctors want nothing to do with you if there's a complication. Which is, of course, when you NEED a doctor the MOST.

Well he was very nice and caring. He just kept putting my complaints off like they were being fabricated. He just kept saying come back for an adjustment and nothing was working. After the last time i just left. Wow!!! That is really unbelievable!!! Sheesh!! Did you get a new surgeon? How is your weightlosd now with the sleeve?
