Ok,  how do I stop losing?  I went to my WW meeting this morning.  I  use WW as maintenance to help keep me honest and accountable for what I eat.  I also get weighed every week so I wouldn't get to obsessed about the scale.  Well, I lost another .2 lbs bringing up my total to 193 lbs.  I'm 16 lbs lower than the original surgeons goal and 10 lbs lower than his replacements' goal.  I scared stiff that I wouldn't be able to control myself is I ease up a bit.  Oh, by the way, I'm26 months out from my rny.  I never thought 3 years ago that I would have I thought that I'd be at this point.

What's your BMI? Because 193 is higher than my weigh the day of surgery so I'm assuming you are a LOT taller than me if that's below your goal weight!

With RnY, you are going to lose your malabsorption in the 2-3 year time period and eating the same amount of food you eat now will give you more absorbed calories so this is a problem that may take care of itself.

I know I got obsessed with this when I was losing because I did get a bit thin. But 3 years out I realized I was obessing over nothing. Time took care of everything for me.

Right now, my bmi is 25.3.  As I was starting the process, my bmi 57.something.  I stared out over 300 lbs and am only 5'1".

A weight of 193 for a height of 61 inches is a BMI of 36.4 which is obese! Did you mean to type 139? But even that is a BMI of 26.2 for someone of our height.

I am confused!

My original weight was 327 and have lost 193 lbs.  I was 134 when I got on the scale this morning.

Okay that makes more sense.

I understand the worry about losing too much weight and feeling like you are skin and bones because I had it. But I'm now 3 years out and have been at my goal weight for 2 years and I can tell you from this far out that this worry is somewhat misguided.

First, as everyone has said, a year from now you'll be worrying about bounce back.

Second, most of us who feel like we are "skin and bone"  just need to put on some muscle. Even if you strength train during your weight loss, it's pretty much impossible to lose that much weight and not lose some muscle mass. Plus we women tend to not put on muscle on our upper body which is also where we're most likely to get that "chicken wing" look.

You can weight the same but have more muscles and look great, not skin and bones.

Another thing that happens once you stop losing weight is that our body fat redistributes. I got more in my boobs and face and lost some more in my thighs once I was at goal for a while.

Of course, people told me this when I was in your position and I didn't believe them so I don't expect you to believe me either. But I hope you at least don't worry quite so much after hearing us all say the same thing...

My WW book says that the range for a 5'1' woman is 106 - 132 --- so, you have a long way to go to be considered under-weight.

If I were you, I would set my WW goal at 132 (so I could get to maintenance as soon as possible and attend meetings for free).  Then, I would continue to lose to at least 5 pounds below that --- and then work the WW program to begin to maintain.

WW will have you adjust your points (basically adding about 100 calories per day) to the point where you stop losing -- and don't gain.

I use WW -- I got to my goal weight last December, Lifetime in early Feb and am now maintaining a few pounds below my goal weight.

193 is the weight she has LOST.
Pretty pretty please, don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f*ckin' perfect.

I wouldn't do anything to stop loss until my bmi was going underweight. You are barely in the normal range, I wouldn't sweat it.
