looking for ideas for my birthday cake that isn't cake!
I believe that everyone should have a birthday cake for their birthday, And it is bad luck if you do not have a cake and make a wish and blow out the candles, I know probably the weirdest thing that you have heard. But my birthday is coming up on the 5th and would like to have something that would be my "cake". Hold my candles and allow me to make a wish. I thought maybe a jello mold. But I figured that there has to be some OH friends that have better and more creative ideas then that. So I am asking, what do you do to celebrate your birthday? Do you just not have a cake? Do you substitute for something else? This would be my first year. So any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks so much. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

Bariatric foodie and he world according to Eggface have some great high protein dessert ideas. Eggface has some amazing protein ice cream recipes, you could make an ice cream cake.
I also believe in anything within moderation. So a specialty cupcake, shared with my hubby (he gets like 3/4 of it) makes for a great treat.

Thank you I will look to see what desserts that would be good. I love the cupcake idea between me and my hubby. It could be our own little romantic part of my day. Thanks so much.
For my birthday I go out to eat. That's our family tradition. We do it for all four of us.
If I liked cake, I'd just have some. A few bites of cake once a year isn't going to kill you or derail your WL efforts. But I don't like it that much so I don't bother.
One of the things WLS has freed me from is the need to eat stuff that is supposed to be a treat but it turns out I don't really like it. We all have things like that. Birthday cake is a big one... realizing I don't really like cake has freed me to eat what I do like and to not be as tempted by it when it shows up in the office or other people's parties.

That is what I am starting to realize. I work at a bakery. And I am not tempted at all to try anything like I use to be. I think I know that having sugar or to much is going to make me sick. It happened before. So I would rather just not go through it. Thank you for the great idea. Maybe I will just stay away from the cake all together. Even the idea of it.

once upon a time I had a group to talk about Binge Eating Disorder, and later one about Clean Eating.
PM me if you are interested in either of these.

Very good idea. I could even write on it with ketchup. lol Thank you!
Paula Deen has a great Lemon Cheesecake made with Splenda/LF Cream Cheese/LF Sour Cream. It's so good! I make the crust with crushed almonds and pecans. It's virutally carb free and very low fat and you cannot tell the difference in the taste.
