Good stuff, and, as many have said, really applicable to all surgery types, not just RNY. The only one I would argue is the one about cooking - I hate cooking, and my husband barely knows how to cook a frozen pizza. Our lifestyle has been such that we eat out literally 7 days a week (sometimes twice a day, depending on if I have any leftovers for lunch the next day or not). I still managed to get very healthy and lose 120+ pounds - you just have to be smart about where and what you eat.
I was a participant in a study for WLS patients after my surgery, and I'll never forget the day I was in the lab with a pre-op patient, and I asked her what procedure she was having.
