I eat everything ...  but very low fat at home or fatfree  ideally ....  very little sugar .  Lots of whole grains, fresh vegetables and fresh fruit .

Fatfree  dairy only .

Lots of lowfat vegan soy and almond  products like tofu and almond milk almost fatfree cheese....  beans of  many kinds,  rice ... dreamfileds pasta ...

I feel great going on three years post ....  have had a bit of regain  from my very lowest weight but nothing i can't live with .  I'm sure if I stopped grazing and  started  running again  it would drop off ...

Over on the RNY board are daily threads like this:

I think that you'd find threads like this ones on many of the surgery-specific boards.  Which you might want to peruse to see what life may be like after some of the other surgeries, too.

Just a suggestion.

I also eat anything I want. If I want a cookie, I eat one cookie. If I want cake, I eat a bite or two. I know that I will get sick if I eat more. I am eight years post op and still follow these rules. Just remember to get your protein in first.

I eat most everything, but tend to be careful about foods with higher fat content because it usually sits quite heavily on my stomach (or facsimile thereof). I eat steel cut oatmeal for breakfast, along with protein coffee or hot chocolate. Today I had a salad with hard boiled egg and LF dressing. Tonight I will have stewed tomato with okra, Morningstar Farm veggie crumbles, and grated cheese. I also eat lots of Greek yogurt. It just depends on your tastes and preferences.

I'm 27 months out and eat almost anything.  But it's really small portions.  If I have something llike ice cream (which I don't keep in the house because of temptation),  I'll get a child size.  Any sugar like cake, 1/4 to 1/3 of  serving,  cookies -it's 2 small ones.  As far as sugar/ fat,  it's a bare minimun.  That kind of stuff is a treat now.  Basicly, It's protein, vegies, fruit, and complex carb.

The only foods I avoid are sugar and refined carbs.  I am also gluten free.  Other then that I eat what I want.  I have found plenty of sugar free, gluten free alternatives for goodies when I want them.  I do focus on protein, getting in an average of 150 grams a day and I drink a lot of fluids, at least 100 oz a day but most days around a gallon.
I don't really graze and I try not to eat impulsively but instead to plan out my meals and snacks and stick to that plan.
For example, here is what I am having today.
Breakfast was a protein decaf because I had an appointment early and didn't have time to fix my usual breakfast of oatmeal with butter and milk and a banana.
For lunch I usually have a ricotta bake, which is like the insides of lasagna.  I make it with ricotta, sugar free spaghetti sauce and moz cheese and some gluten free crackers with a wedge of Laughing Cow cheese.
Dinner tonight is either a taco casserole on a tostado with sour cream or italian sausge spaghetti sauce on gluten free spaghetti with cheese on top.
For snacks I usually have a sugar free fudgecicle or pudding, a protein hot cocoa, popcorn, a protein bar and some protein almond cookies I make.

I solve that problem by using whey protein isolate unflavored.  You can mix it with soup, beans, cottage cheese, etc.  I even mixed it with tomato sauce in a recipe I was making to increase the protein.  Eggs, too.  I just mix it with a little water or other liquid, just to make it smooth, and then mix it into whatever I can.  Protein doesn't have to be sweet.
