Surgery in Mexico ?

I had surgery (not WLS) in Las Vegas, Nevada. Besides not being able to drink the water there, I had numerous complications.
I have worked for too many cities in the US, I don't drink the water in any of them. Scary stuff, and each city in the US has to release their water analysis if you ask. Happy reading.
It will really narrow down your choices.

1- How does one have a follow-up visit with the doctor ?
You get a pcp, however the doctor will not let you go unless he's sure that there's no leakage and sure that you'll be fine.
2- What happens if you have a problem with the surgery ?
If you choose a good doctor and he takes care of you the way it should be, he will do whatever is in his hands to make sure everything goes ok and make sure you are fine before leaving to avoid complications
3-Who pays if you have to go back for resurgery?
As someone said if it goes wrong why go back to him??, he most likely would ask you to pay for your trip and he wouldn't charge any hospital o doctor's fees.
4- Is it safe to be in Mexico ?
In mexico most hospitals will be in a good zone, there's no country without crime, and I had surgery in Tijuana wich is not what it used to be crime wise. It is much safer and i never felt threatened.
5- Is the hospital fully equipped to handle any emergency you may have ?
The hospital should be fully equiped, ask the doctor to show you the OR, the health and sanitary department was renewed and they are constantly checking they meet the requirements to operate as a clinic or hospital. That is what I saw in tijuana. I had surgery there and everything went great. That's just my story.
