Hunger and Ghrelin

I've had most of my stomach removed and I rarely experience hunger.  It is an issue because I need to put on some weight and it's hard when you aren't hungry.  I plan my meals and eat by the clock but when I get busy I forget.  Today I ate lunch at about 2 and had a protein bar around 4.  I was busy and kept putting off dinner.  I finally ate around 9 or 10.  Fortunately I still enjoy food and eating, I just forget if I am distracted.

I don't think there is a one size fits all type deal and I don't think its all the time. I rarely get hungry, but when I do its more of an empty feeling than hunger.

To me Ghrelin is like a unicorn. You hear of it but I can't tell it exists. ;)

Seriouslly though I don't experience less hunger.  I eat till I get full, usually about what can fit in my hand (sometimes about 50% more than that) but I also eat about 4 times a day.  If I want to eat I eat and I eat until I don't want to eat anymore and I make (somewhat) good choices and I loose weight.  It's pretty easy.  I don't give it too much though.  I could make better choices and probably lose weight faster and more, but I just use what I have now.

It's almost like the VSG makes you become one of those people who eat 4 or 5 small meals a day. You will eat, you will get full quick and about 4 or 5 hours later you will want to eat something again, that's been my experience so far.
