Paula Deen Has Diabetes. PS. SO WHAT?
1) I wish the mods would change the title of this post...it's DIABETES not "the Betes" or "the sugar".
2) And she developed it, she didn't catch it (GET).
3) Using butter is NOT a bad thing for diabetics as long as most of what they consume is protein and fat (JUST like a DS'er).
4) We have no clue what she has done in her personal life to change how she eats.
5) While the RNY is used for treating diabetes, the statistics are in favor of having a DS. One the remission rate is higher for the DS, and the chance of RH is almost non-existent (I said ALMOST).
6) I thought personal attacks were against the TOS (unless they aren't a member, I guess).
The lifestyle of a DS'er is also the best one for ssomeone who has diabetes.
And there is a genetic component to type 2...not everyone who is fat has diabetes, but a good portion of type 2's are fat...so did obesity cause diabetes or did diabetes cause obesity? IF obesity caused diabetes, than far more obese people would be diabetic. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK1667/
That article includes a HUGE list of genetic factors that predispose someone to diabetes.
In my own family, of four girls (I'm the oldest), I am the ONLY one who is diabetic, and yet three of the four of us were obese. I say were as my BMI is now midrange normal. So of a 75% rate of obesity between the four of us, only 33% (me) became diabetic.

Shouldn't be an issue to change as I didn't quote your original post...whoever did tho may be who is stopping it from being changed.

"Anthony Bourdain, a New York-based chef and host of the Travel Channel's "No Reservations," took to Twitter Tuesday night to resume his criticism of chef Paula Deen by tweeting, "Thinking of getting into the leg-breaking business, so I can profitably sell crutches later."
Just suggesting it, there's a lot of peeps here who have/had type 2 and take it very seriously. So that's like going to an obesity convention and making fat jokes.
