Fat Tuesday.

"While we don't all celebrate the same things (or some of us celebrate the same things for completely different reasons), today is Mardi Gras...also known as Fat Tuesday, Shrove Tuesday, or Fastnacht Day... No matter what you call it, it's the last day of gluttony before the start of the Lenten season. For those who DO observe (no religious bashing here, please; we're all here out of respect for one another), might I suggest 40 days of giving rather than 40 days of self-denial? What can you do for others for 40 days?"

It makes me want to eat a donut. lol But after yesterdays RH nightmares I don't think so.
Self denial is not a bad thing, 40 years of gluttony got me MO, a little self denial goes a long way to curb a repeat performance. Maybe I will give up M&M's for Lent. God knows I have no plans on being nice to anyone. lol

Doug wants fried ice cream tonight for dessert, yes I already have it ready to go, vanilla ice cream rolled in crushed frosted flakes and cinnamon sugar sitting in frozen balls in the freezer waiting to be dropped into hot oil. Sitting on a bed of whipped cream and honey if you dare. I hate him for wanting this, because I will try of course. But now that you bring it up since I am frying oil, I think I am going to make some beignets, I haven't made them in forever. What a brilliant idea and Fat Tuesday is now Fried Tuesday. Perfect.
