I know what you mean!  I just hit 3 years post-op....I still cannot eat red meat, rice, pasta, bread...things like that.  AND...I always know when I'm doing what I shouldn't do....eat too quickly...don't chew enough...eat and drink at the same time....I suffer in agony!

So....I pulled out the old "WLS Bible" that they gave us before leaving the hospital...and go back to basics.

It really sucks sometimes....but...NEVER would I look back with any regret!

Hope this helps!

3 years gone...and with those 3 years???? 115lbs!

I'm becoming half the person I was...but I'm also becoming twice the woman!

Sounds like, believe it your not, you are 'lucky' not to be able to eat bread, pasta, rice, red meat..the 'bad white stuff' is what seems to get most people gaining weight.

So, being forced not to eat them could be very, very good!  Me?  I choose NOT to eat them and find alternatives if necessary.  Favourite is Kavli Garlic Thins made with rye flour.  And Shirataki tofu noodles.  Both are in my standard diet, be even then, I only eat them occasionally.  I have a bag of Shirataki in the fridge; been there two weeks so far and haven't opened them yet.....

I have made 'grilled cheese sandwiches' by lightly buttering the outside of 2 Kavli Thins and putting in cheddar cheese.  Closest to a grilled cheese sandwich I plan on going!!!
