Insurance won't cover it so I need $25000

I paid 8700 for vsg with an excellent doctor and better medical care than in the states, Dr Aceves in Mexicali. I was nervous, but did tons of research and felt very comfortable with my decision

Thanks everyone for the tips. After talking it over with my husband we decided that traveling outside the country would not be ideal. I am brazilian and have family there to help with the recovery and found a surgeon who would do it for about $5300. But I have a 1 year old daughter at home and I cannot be away from her that long. But I never thought to shop around within the US. I called the big hospital in Philadelphia and they told me that they don't take cash patients. So I called the small hospital in the suburbs, and found out their is estimated at $8000 plus the anesthesiologists fees. I'm sure it will be a lot less than the $25000 the other hospital wanted. 

So anyways, will probably be starting the process over but I am still feeling hopeful.

Like posted before there are many other options.  I too did not have insurance coverage, and simply could not afford to put my family in this kind of financialstrain at the time.

Look at options,adnd find that is best for you and you will never have a single regret.
