I hit my second goal of 170 pounds!  WOOOT!  I am feeling amazing.  I am debating a couple of things right now.  First of all, I am debating setting another weight goal.  I am thinking 160.  this would put me on the high side of "normal weight" for someone my height.  The other option is to maintain, have my skin removal which will take me down by a BUNCH.  I have a ton of extra skin on my belly.  I was 450 when i started so imagine how much that looks like.  lol.  I have been told the estimated weight loss from skin removal on my belly would be 25 to 30 pounds.  If i go down to 160, then i would be under weight.  However, it will be a while before i can afford skin removal.  What did you all do?  I have visited with my doctor and there are arguments in favor of both options.  Just wondering how others dealt with this.  Thanks!

Congratulations!!!!!  I see you have the same doctor as me.

I'm below goal and at first I thought I was too thin but now I'm used to the way I look and I figure if I have some regain I will still have a normal BMI.

Wow, congratulations on reaching goal!  I'm so proud of you.

I think having the excess skin removed is a good goal for you as well.  It will be such a boost to your self esteem.  Have to explored insurance paying for the panni-part of it?  Ya know, because you have rashes, etc?  Then if you wanted more, you'd only have to pay for that portion of it?

Good luck in your decision!

WOOT!!! Congrats on reaching goal ... that is AWESOME!!!! You can explore many options for skin removal ... there are insurance paid panniculectomies if you meet certain criteria if your carrier covers it ... there are awesome plastic surgeons who offer sliding scale fees and/or financing and there are awesome teaching hospitals where plastic surgery residents under direct guidance of the attending professor perform the procedure ... and there is self-pay ... if all else fails there are AWESOME compression garments ... from Lipoexpress... to Slimpressions to Spanx to name a few.

I wish nothing but the best on your continued journey.  Again CONGRATS!!!

Being 10, 20, or 30 pounds underweight is no more of a medical emergency than being 10, 20, or 30 pounds overweight.  Continue to lose until your body just stops.  That will happen.  Then you have a cushion for regain which is also almost guaranteed to happen.

Think of your skin removal as an investment in yourself.  It is way more important than a car and people gladly pay $35,000 or more for a car.  Explore all your options and get the job finished.  Don't worry about being underweight.  It happens to a lot of people during the second year.  It is extremely rare to find someone still underweight by the end of the third year.

Enjoy your wonderful success.

Congratulations!  I always encourage people to go a little under goal to allow for a little bounce back.

All the best!

Congrats on reaching your goal.  That is fabulous... you go girl.  I have found mini goals and things other that the weight on the scales really motivates me.   I know having the loose skin removed would really be a blessing.

I don't have a huge skin amount to remove, but I was wondering if you wear a Spanks type garmet to help support that skin so it doesn't stretch more?

I like how I look when I wear mine and wish I had the money to get the skin taken off.  Thank goodness I don't need a TT just skin removal.

There are always arguments about this that or the other in medicine.

Good luck with your choice.
