Hi Loretta,

Old habits die hard. I had a band for three years and I also had some problems with eating too fast. I have two very little ones at home, so sitting down and chewing each bite 20 times was often next to impossible. With the band once something got stuck it irritated your esophagus making it a bit swollen so things were more likely to get stuck for the next day or two. I'm not sure if it is the same for the RNY, but I wonder if throwing up has caused some irritation and swelling. Maybe a day of very soft foods or fluids would help things calm down. That is what was recommended to me.

Take care of yourself.
