Choosing a Surgeon
Got the go-ahead from my PCM to finally pick a surgeon for my RNY! Happy yes, but now indecisive! There are two places that accept my insurance (or should I say that are network providers accepting new patients) and I have been reading all day about the two. Thing is, I can't seem to find anything horribly NEGATIVE about either, which is making my decision harder!(have to tell my PCM which one to write the referral to in order to keep this forward momentum!)
So, looking for advice on how you all finally decided on your surgeon, what was that deciding factor for you?
I am going to go to the informational sessions for both of them when they come around again, of course, so I am sure those might make an impact on my choice...
And if anyone has some insight to the two I am deciding between (The team led by Dr. Bell at Yale or the team led by Dr. Pohl at Roger Williams) I would greatly appreciate that as well!
Thanks!
Jenn

Meeting my doctor was the deciding factor for me. He had a spotless reputation professionally, but when I walked into his office and felt so welcome and comfortable, that was what gave me confidence.

I am lucky to have a Hospital in my area that has a Center of Excellence rating. That was very important to me. Also when I met my surgeon and her staff at the hospital I knew I had made the right choice. They are so warm and informative, and obviously care about what they are doing.
I am at this point getting my pre-ops done and looking forward to scheduling my surgery date. I don't have any qualms whatsoever at this point and feel like I am where I am suppose to be after much thought, research and most of all, prayer. Best wishes to you !!
